Who's To Blame?

Tell me, who's the one to blame?
When something bad occurs,
And when that something is so bad,
It causes you to live with fears!
You have a life, and get married,
Just as most people in life do,
And you raise your family to your best,
Shower them with a love so true!

Then one fine day it all goes wrong,
And suddenly one of your own-
Turns against you in a terrible way,
And throws you out of your home!
And puts his fists in your face,
Shouting at you and causing such fear,
That you back away, and hope and pray-
That there is someone to help, someone near!

But that help just doesn't happen,
For the person will not intervene,
And help you in your horrific plight!
Read on, and see what it is that I mean!

He would have her over the kitchen unit,
Fists raised above her head,
The fear in her so powerful,
Knowing if he hit her she would be dead!
Keeping quiet and out of sight,
And hidden away in her room upstairs,
Told to keep out of the way of things,
And hide while in upset and tears!

And the torrent of abuse lives on,
Follows you in every day you see,
Fear and pain, like nothing on earth,
Living deep within the heart of she!
And the husband who was supposed to love you,
Idly stands by and watches this occur,
Not helping at all, but rather walk away,
Leaving his wife in terror and fear!

Is that a man, or a mouse?
Do you think that was good of him!
To walk away from abuse like that!
No, it's a terrible sin!
So the wife leaves home and flees,
To live in peace and make a new start!
But all the while, she's thought about,
As a mother who has no heart!

But a heart she has, oh yes indeed,
And a strength in her second to none,
For the day she left that sorry house!
Was indeed, the day she won!
And now there is no more abuse in her life,
For the good that came about,
Made a difference to how she is,
No more fear; be not in any doubt!

And so now; what will happen?
Who knows, but of this be sure!
No matter what will come to pass for her?
She'll never suffer like that any more!
The truth will always out you know!
And when that time comes to pass,
Her life will finally start anew,
And she'll have happiness by the mass!

Who is to blame then, who?
The one who caused all the abuse?
Or the very one who should have stopped it?
The one who was of absolutely no use!
So now, when you look back on this,
You wonder how the hell you did survive,
And more, how did you cope with the fear,
And think how you're lucky to be alive!

For every dog has its day,
And one day the fear will be passed!
Then the abuser becomes the abused,
Who will be the victim, finally, at last!
So who is to blame, tell me true?
The abuser or the parent who allowed it to go on!
For the husband stood and watched often,
At the wife in fear and torment of her own son!

Who's To Blame?

Not She!
