Skipping Stones
I walk down to the waters edge
With many thoughts inside my head
A simple stone catches my eye
Smooth and flat from days gone by
With a simple touch it comes to me
Weightless almost, as if care free
I choose one for fear, one for doubt
With a flick of my wrist, I cast them out
I find one more for insecurities
An odd shaped one with impurities
How beautiful it looked taking flight
If even for a moment, all was right
Now all my thoughts I did let go
By waters stream and skipping stones
Ready at last to accept your love
As the water accepted stones from above
