Words and Verse
Christmas Bells
A Christmas Carol Without a Tune
"Those evening bells! Those evening bells!
How many a tale their music tells…"
-Thomas Moore
Those Christmas Bells! Those Christmas Bells!
How at their sound the within me wells
The wondrous joy of this sweet time
When every year I hear their chime.
The time of gifts, the time of mirth
The time of Mary's virgin birth
The time when Wisemen gifts do bring
Unto their king. Oh how they ring!:
They ring with joy, they ring with praise
Of Jesus on this day of days.
They ring to sing their holy song
To everyone to pass along.
And as I leave that church behind
Their song rings on within my mind.
The timeless tune still in me dwells,
The song of those sweet Christmas Bells.
"Those evening bells! Those evening bells!
How many a tale their music tells…"
-Thomas Moore
Those Christmas Bells! Those Christmas Bells!
How at their sound the within me wells
The wondrous joy of this sweet time
When every year I hear their chime.
The time of gifts, the time of mirth
The time of Mary's virgin birth
The time when Wisemen gifts do bring
Unto their king. Oh how they ring!:
They ring with joy, they ring with praise
Of Jesus on this day of days.
They ring to sing their holy song
To everyone to pass along.
And as I leave that church behind
Their song rings on within my mind.
The timeless tune still in me dwells,
The song of those sweet Christmas Bells.
