If I Had a Quarter (A seven year old)

If I had a quarter, I’ll tell what I would do!
I’d buy a quarter’s worth of bubble gum
and give all to you! Then everytime you
blow a bubble, you’d know my heat is true!

Now I’m only seven and you’re only seven too,
but that okay, for some day I’ll be thirteen
and you will be my high school queen.

If I had a quarter, I’ll tell you what I'd do!
I’d buy you a shiny apple and try to sneak
a kiss or two.

If I had a quarter, I’ll tell you what I'd do!
I’d buy you an ice cream cone and hold
your little hand so you wouldn’t have to
eat alone.

But, I don’t have a quarter, so if you want
the  bubble gum, shiny apple, and the ice
cream cone, you’re going to have to wait
until Saturday, that’s when I get my
allowance from home!

Will you give me a kiss on credit?
