Within her lovely blue eyes I see a great pool of sorrow,
years of anguish cannot be hidden,
the lines around her sad eyes belie it,
for there is a lifetime of misery etched upon her pretty face.
The story of heartbreak and broken promises of love there reside,
there for all who'll take time to look.
All she ever hoped for was one to love,
and one to return her sweet love,
but never could true love be found.
In Sylvia's lovely blue eyes I can see it,
the longing and hopelesness,
the burning desire to be held secure in another's loving arms.
Alas she has not found it,
her hopes and dreams ever dashed upon the cruel rocks of life.
When I truly look closely I can see it,
that maddening sorrow in those lovely blue eyes,
and the many years of heartache and pain she's endured.
My heart feels for Sylvia,
I mourn her pain and years of despair,
and I wish to make it all go away,
When I take her into my arms tonight.

This is a purely fictional poem based upon a good friend of long ago.How sad it is that so many of us have gone through so much pain and heartache.
