Can't Tell Me
I have searched for fulfillment
please let me honor this commitment
I want to stand by the ocean
breath in this fresh air with you
let us both fly under each other's wings
gotta say I am sorry
for not bending
coming clean now, don't let me go
let's make this our new beginning
cuz you can't tell me
this is no different
than all those times we left
you can't tell me
the mistakes of yesterday
don't you think I still struggle with them?
even now.....when our time should smile
You always so independent
it was so difficult at times to find my place
cuz your life was so busy
before the simplest requests
I felt like an intrusion
guilt and anger simmered just below the surface
but now finally at last
my feelings lie naked out in the open
cuz you can't tell me
this is no different
than all those times we left
you can't tell me
the mistakes of yesterday
don't you think I still struggle with them?
