In memorial to my niece Stacy who died in a tragic automobile
accident when a speeding car crossed the center line and hit
the motor home she was driving head on. The motor home
and the Porsche went up in flames. Staci's mother and two children
were in the car following the motor home. Her mother and stepfather
he having crawled out a window on a broken leg fought to try
and pry the door open as it went up in flames. Staci was renting
the motor home and was to go to Canada and watch her husband
compete in a triathlon. She was 34 years young. At her funeral her
children released balloons into the blue skies. This poem is my
remembrance.

To Soar
To seek
Embrace the sky
Alas
No wings have I
Her walk so gentle
Yet aloft
As a baby bird on its maiden flight
Her voice so soft
A mere whisper in the night
No more beautiful woman
I must say than she
As beautiful coming towards
As the day she walked away.
