The news I heard today has left me broken hearted,
Prayer requests came in and then the tear drops started.
A storm named Katrina is headed toward New Orleans.
And Biloxi; Prayer requests for God to Please, Intervene.
The storm beats upon the shore, with”unrelentless heed'
Huge walls of water flood, winds of devastating speed
Tear through the heart and soul of cities; ages old
Lives are lost, just how many; Heaven, Only, knows.
Survivors with out power, or food, or water, pure.
In winds and rain, they struggle, just trying to endure,
On rooftops waiting to be rescued one by one,
Brave men keep on working until the job is done.
Through weeping hearts, too weak to find the words,
Our spirits pray for Your Mercifulness, Oh Lord.
We Praise You in All Things, Lord, which work together for good.
Help us to find Your Blessing in the midst of this devastating flood.
