Old Memory

By Cynthia L. B. Bogear

An old memory rekindled by a new face,
With a smile that never fades.
One moment in time taken back,
To a place and a love I once had.
A lifetime I spent searching;
I thought I only got one chance.
As the conversation ended,
And the day faded to night,
I discovered that some things never change.
The twinkle in your eyes brought him back,
As his memory danced through my head.
Your voice still echoes through my mind,
And your touch I still feel.
I had an old memory replaced last night.
You gave me back the old feelings left behind.
You gave me an old memory with a new face.
