I Felt So Good!I got to work in perfect shape, in spite of traffic deep and slow! I sat through staff meeting, half awake, then walked to class with singing heart! My children smiled and walked in line, without much noise or push or fuss! They listened well and kept on task, well, I think they did, most of the time! I read them poems that made them laugh, and let them repeat them back to me! They danced with laughter, and strange style, and matched the pictures, taking turns! They ate their lunch with little mess, and went to play with happy noise! I heard them read, with gentle prompts, and checked to see they understood! In the afternoon they dressed so odd, and got me invisible tea and cake! We said goodbye with happy smiles, then I packed my things and drove right home! Nothing special, nothing new, but I felt so good as I drove home, listening to the radio! Joy Weare. 7th September, 2005. Poetry Ad-Free Upgrades Vote for this poem
