Cody
*this is dedicated to my second cousin, little Cody*
You will never see this exact moment
so hold it precious in the palm of your hand
You will never taste something as sweet as this
so savor every morsel
You can travel the whole world
yet see nothing
live your life with eyes that absorb and are open
You can imagine a script for your life
but at the end I hope it's better than you wrote
I wish for you to reach those heights of the greats
cuz you can spend your life living another's dream
or burn your own trail to those unseen gates
You can lose games and never be popular
just remember ones that are different
bloom later in life
don't spend your days reliving the past
you can't take away
cherish your family no matter the mistakes
because in the end it's all you got left
I hope you love honestly
even if it hurts
and when you mess up
be man enough to say I am sorry
I hope you come to know the Lord
He is the answer to all of life's storms
may you believe passionately
may you have faith wholly
and most of all never ever forget
what your smile looks like.....
