The Poetic War!

The words roll on
And waft in the breeze,
They zoom through the clouds
And swing on the trees!

They flash on the screens
All over the world,
As poets all punch them
And give them a hurl!

Sometimes they laugh
And sometimes they cry,
But mostly they tease
And pleasantly sigh!

The poets all smile
Throwing more on their screens,
Until their hands ache,
And their minds start to dream!

Marvin's in pain
And Cliff gets all stiff,
They get in a muddle,
And soon start to tiff!

Jody and Joy
Get tingles so sharp,
Katydid and Michelle,
Feel all sort of dark!

An Angel soft hovers
Over them all,
They begin to feel tired,
So into bed they all fall!

Joy Weare.
