Faith of a Child

A child's faith moves mountains and parts the seas,
Making us wish to view all things through their eyes.
Humbling us to go down upon our knees.

In the faith of a child, sweet magic lies.
For in seeing such faith, our hearts fill with joy-
Renewing the spirit of hope ‘ere it dies.

Such endearing virtue of her girl and boy
Is the antidote for a mother's despair.
The strength we hold within; God's gift to employ.

So we must be vigilant and give much care
To these treasures entrusted to us by God-
And to the snatchers of innocence-Beware!

For if living in faith brings us closer to God
Then on these beautiful souls we dare not trod.
