M's Poetry

Beside The Lake

We laid her to rest right beside the lake
she always loved to hear those ripples
it reminded her of her past beside the ocean
rushing by she said the ripples talked to her
gave her peace, sometimes the only she did see
her life was hard, not by design
she dreamed big but always lived hard times
I can't really recall a period
where she seemed to catch up to enjoy a breath of fresh air
I really miss her....I feel naked
cuz she was my shield
I come to visit just to feel you near me
like back in the day
I remember you  as I reflect upon your grave

So many things I never said
locked down inside of this brain
words even now today I am still scared to say
because that would make it really true
like a big announcement
after the crowd has left
it doesn't matter I don't guess
one is the lonely number
that both me and you share
in this world am I
you in the next world
how I wish our fingertips could touch
one more time for old times sake
but I guess like you
my feelings will stay buried
beside this lake.....
