Heart Of The Matter

White Horses

Let us ride white horses,
And pray the silver sand,
Beneath the hooves,
Hold us in high esteem,
And carry us loftily,
To mingle with the stars,
And dance on sunbeams,
Which tumble gracefully,
On a dusty wooden floor,

Let us sail on a sea,
Of a thousand salty tears,
Wept unashamedly,
And gathered in pools,
To wait patiently,
For the ocean to sate its thirst,
And hungrily,
Effortlessly,
Sweep them away.

Let us fly amongst,
The birds of paradise,
In rainbow hues,
Camouflaged in form,
And graceful in flight,
Seeking only,
Safe passage,
And sanctuary,
For the heart.
