CLEANING HOUSE

(To my friend Ben; thank you for
helping me remember myself...)

beedroom Pictures, Images and Photos

Standing at the threshold
of a life begun anew
waiting for that moment
when clarity will shine through

You step into that room now
absolved of any notions
swept clean of any doubts
and intent on self promotion

Your vision scans the corners
you survey the window panes
looking for your old self
but divested, look in vain

And now you clear the cobwebs
from recesses in your mind
and polish up the dreams
of the girl you left behind

Fling open all those windows
and then unlatch every door
and welcome in the woman
whose heart you now explore
