Memory Lane

Take a walk with me down memory lane
Share with me my love and my pain
Of days gone by of two recent years
Through torture and triumph; I'm standing here
I've been through physical and mental anguish
Which sadly love was extinguished
A companion of doubt
And we fought no matter what about
Times tried to rip me apart
But I've fought always with a new start
A friend that swung one night on those swings
With us dreaming of his grand dreams
A year later he was taken in a horrific crash
A friend leaving my life; what a gash
My ex leaving my life vengefully
Leaving me feeling convicted though I wasn't guilty
Times of spying and utter lying; such spread profanity
Hate and jealousy; on the brink of near insanity
Times cooled down till another rolled into town
Bringing hopes and dreams of truth and love to this frown
After a mere few weeks the senses spiraled down
And again I was left with an open wound to lick; and that damn frown
Stayed alone for some time
Leaving me locked up like I was a crime
A criminal act that wasn't worth such happiness
Just convicted to a holy Hell of deserted emptiness
Spoke with one that wanted a new life
To get away from those that had caused nothing but strife
Fell in love unexpectedly letting myself be the fool
And again my heart was torn out, sadness began to drool
From my heart and mind
I was again thrown back to the cell for another sentenced time
I gave in to fast and fell for lies
Wanting such love I let my common sense fail; cutting its ties
I am able to learn easily by studying a person
But with love there is no such a skill of reason
Suffering from hardships due to finances
I look around doubtful I can survive; always taking second glances
To see where I can live, or what I can do
To make my life better and make me happier too
Dealing with my parents best friend
Dying a bloody end from a cops merciless hand
And a best friend of mine
Losing his father; what a crime
Learning of my family falling apart
Like having a disease or not a lot of time left; that's a start
Times twisting and people getting older
Rolling down a steep hill like a ten ton boulder
Nothing to stop it in its path
Just inevitable heartache and painful wrath
People dying all around my town
What's worst it's parents burying children 6 foot in the ground
Memories surround me in where I sit
As I write I remember of times so unfit
Seeing that swing set, or that car
Makes me remember back and miss it from afar
Wishing that things could have happened different
But yet never blessing me with such comfort
I could've been killed or killed myself
But I made it through barely; teetering on that shelf
Waiting for my weight to make that ledge
Just break off and send me over the edge
Take a walk with me down memory lane
Share with me my love and my pain
Of days gone by of two recent years
Through torture and triumph; I'm standing here
