At first sight he said it was true love
Said I was an angel sent from above
He wrote me a letter and asked me out
When I said yes all he did was scream and shout
Although me fathers permission was not there
We were in love so we didn't care
It lasted a while until we got caught
The subject of "age" had then been brought
He was four years older so my father said no
But deep inside we knew we had to let our love show
I cried many tears to be with this guy

Dated without my fathers consent
"They're the greatest couple," everyone would say

But when things always seemed so right
Something always went wrong the next night
My dad found out we were dating again
But we still refused to let it end
My father said "He's not right for you,
He's only after one thing and you know it's true."
Then I said "How could it be?
I haven't given it up and he's still here with me!"
