…Tigger's Lament…He was a really beautiful cat was Tiggs, And as happy and funny as can be, Always clowning around as cat's do, And as busy as a bee! I had to look high and low each day, To find out where he was at, Under the table, on the settee, Yep, that's Tigger my cheeky cat! He has this little black and white ‘friend' An old, gentle she-cat is she, Always comes' calling for Tigger! And always meowing to me! Now she hasn't been around this last week, A strange thing, for she was here each day, Then this evening Tigger went to sleep, And his black cat friend came my way. Meowed to me, something she's never done, And came to me and purred as they do, But she has never come near me before, And I'm wondering if she knew? Knew that Tiggs has gone away, And she would see him not one more time, And just like me, she will miss him so, My cat Tigger, so lovely and fine! He has made a dent in this heart of mine, And he will always and forever be… In my head, and on my mind, But more, inside the heart of me! What can I say but I love that cat! And no matter where I go in life, No more will I ever own a pet, For the sadness cuts like a knife! I am not up to the pain in this heart of mine, That is caused through a pet I so love, And all I can hope, is what I believe is true, And he's up in that big blue Heaven above.
