FAITHFUL FRIEND
It is not easy
getting through life
alone.
It is frightening
to stand up for
your values.
It is so hard
to remember
your morals.
But once in a while
someone comes along
to remind you-
That God is there;
that you're not alone;
that to uphold what is right
is noble, and the thing
you should do.
For me that someone,
this time, was you.
Admiration,
respect,
gratitude,
and love--
words that tell
how I feel for you.
You are a remarkable human being!
Thank you, my friend.
*Written to honor Doris Williams,
who knew the meaning of true friendship*
