If I Could.....
If I could hold you now
I would say not a thing
but stroke your head
you could silently feel my love
If I could hold you now
I would forgive every bad word tasted
I would take my words and use them more carefully
I would bridge these miles of these gaps
no more "I will do it laters"
because I realize time was wasted
If I could fly to you in a flash
I wouldn't hesitant
to click these fingers and be zapped
If I could take your place in that hospital bed
I would gladly in a heartbeat lay it all down
If I could just make you better
make one more chance appear
it would be my last wish to have you here
healthy and happy because now it's all I can see
I can't picture the IV'S....or the breathing tubes
I won't allow myself to plan your funeral
because I am asking God right now
to lend all my strength to you....
