IT'S FRIDAY

Oh Friday you finally came
When Thursdays are to blame
That we have far to go
That maybe I will not know

Having you each day of the week
As you're running away to seek
Another night at her house there
Where you are safe from the emotions I bare

As naked to you as a jaybird
Have you really ever heard
The words I say that are my distress
As you leave me to guess

What you do there at night
How it's not right
That you go home to her
And all the things that were

Or how Wednesdays full of woe
Because two days are too long for me to go
Without your affection another day
You'll never see it my way

I am glad it's Friday and we are not talking
After your work I see you walking
Away from me without kissing
Are you ever honestly missing

The way I wait on you
The words that come here too
You just want to be alone
But you're not, that woman's at your home

It's Friday and I have to realize
There's no heaven in your blue eyes
You are not going to commit
No matter how upsetting of a fit

I throw
You'll always go
Back to her town
And bring me down

To the devil I can be
When I am jealous that another she
Has your time, your space, your kindness
While I have this rhyme, your face where blindness

Is because your heart is never going to see
That I want your help and you here with me
It's Friday and I'm not going to ache
Because I know I'm second I don't have to take

You coming over this weekend
You are not even my friend
That's the way I feel it must be
As long as you refuse to live with me.
