 The Old Cross Roads

The Old Cross Roads

Three ancestors gathered at the old Cross Roads,
And  they took and oath, ne'er
divided shall be the words of
thy brothers, No more will their
be long distance, and as they took
the solemn oath, I shall save the
 race of blackness, United stand
the Negro man in deeds of love,
I shall walk with my brother
hand and hand, the tricks of
 olden times shall be erase,
So help our God, A bloody slave
of  raised the grave, de' torn shirt,
and scared body that stood before me,
the tear of the savior face appear,
he said , I shall show you the sign
of deliverance, their shall be no
 treason  made in ignorance.

Oh glorious race of mighty men;
The homeland calls to you; Our
 fathers blood with faith divine,
 Our Lord is leading us
down de' way, And land and
seas divide, For the savior
come in arm, in royal form,
the thunder storm speak the war,
the raining skies, de' stallion
 scare, the hooded mask, reveals
its face,  on and fear no storm.

To God they looked upon the skies,
and made another vow to save the race
an have no fear, the constitution
sign in blood, they took the black
book of the mighty script, they
fell upon their knees, at the black river,
and the  cotton fields, This is the way
for you and me in conflicts drawn
  be strong, and stand
By men who look within the darken woods,
 my family shall be my treasure I live;

I take my women from the darken shed,
I pledge to the savior God
 ranks divide with wanton rule:
Bless ye, be firm, be strong, and stand "
Press on, and look to God,
till stand tall de' wholly free.
