CAKE WITH FROSTINGYou prove everyday you get your way That you came to me for my candy frosting It clarifies the words I say As I have you pay the price it's costing You want your cake There in another town While this frosting aches To swirl around You ate your cake and you'll eat it again Three years to bake the lady you call a friend For the past year, you've added my frosting to it And I've cried many a tear as I go through it Cake and frosting are better as one Made that way to compliment the other Daily life and weekend fun When frosting drips down the cake and smothers The messy house, the cold you had Hurtful words said, when I was hurting too Neurotic louse, the devil-bad I become without the cake of you Your candy frosting Your roommate cake The price it's costing Too much to take Put one together Or one will fall It's time you better For me to drink your milk at all My cakes not cold Hot from the oven And I've been told By the way you're loving To eat it Once in a while It would rise up And make you smile Go from this town Away to where you want to stay There that cake's falling down While this frosting's frozen, yet another day. 10/3/2005 1515 cj Vote for this poem
