Poetry For Everyday People

Gone

Can't seem to find the words now
pain sometimes fits too well,

a glass of Merlot, glass of Cabernet,
savoring thoughts, watching shadows
we have known for years, you never forget
riding loneliness, you never forget but
we let our minds dance, take us, no body
plays us like we play us,

our biggest game
faces us every day as we brush our teeth,
comb our hair, slip into happy hour, slip into
the mask, jukebox music and wine.

Who are we to change the world?
