 Expressions of Heartfelt Wisdoms

"Sun Day In The Park"

a plane crosses the clear blue sky,
leaving a trail of smoke behind.
off in the distance the traffic roars,
the sounds muffled by nature's kind.

over the treelines an intriguing sight,
a vision rarely found.
an eyecatching windmill appears,
spinning round and round.

the pavement ends with rolling plateaus,
butterflies zig zag through tall weeds.
a farm nestled on a hill far away,
mother nature is planting seeds.

with her feathered wings clearly defined,
the shape of an angel is seen in the sky.
powder clouds with a misty spray,
forming mountains for the imagery eye.

dead wood shaved from the ground, piled high,
to wide open and clear empty spaces.
flatlands with scattered trees surround,
little pools of water in precise places.

blowing winds swaying cat-tails,
as seen throughout the park.
pastel petals blend the greens and yellows,
a dragonfly toying with a lark.

a hawk circles, looking for prey along a precipice,
gliding effortlessly into the wind.
almost sitting still in mid air,
descending, then rising again.

a swan of brilliant whiteness,
waving good-bye with flapping wings.
chirping crickets and nearby horses naying,
giving way as birds of harmony sing.

a field mouse scampers here and there,
two birds chasing each other, in flight of play.
an older couple enjoys the calmness,
of a cool breeze on a sun filled day.

trail hikers yield to cyclists pedaling by,
horseback riders giving command.
nature lovers, sight seekers and photo buffs,
venture into no man's land.

echoes of a small boy filled with laughter,
enjoying a ride on his mother's shoulder.
the cries of a hurt little girl become smiles,
when her father kneels down to hold her.

hilly masses of trees overshadow,
valleys of flat grassy land.
miles of earmarked trails,
romantic walkers go hand in hand.

deerpath, coyote and nippersink by name,
two old friends out for a walk today.
along the trodden paths of glacial park,
discovering the beauty of nature along the way
