Poetry For Everyday People
Gypsy South Beach
My age still
bouncing off,
I knock on wood much more,
I want more roses in our life,
more grown-up happy hours,
understanding, less obvious,
I love stirring my poem
while the process is in progress,
politics all around, heartless,
South Beach, here I come
as always, Gypsy poet,
let the nylon strings dance,
we know better,
life is sweet simple
our way.
walking Washington Avenue,
Ocean Drive, siting
on the balcony
at the Cafe Milano,
music, life, ocean,
smoking a cigar,
there is no doubt here:
that you're alive,
Collins Avenue,
Cuban coffee,
people who love living,
my beautiful friends
celebrating life's kiss.
bouncing off,
I knock on wood much more,
I want more roses in our life,
more grown-up happy hours,
understanding, less obvious,
I love stirring my poem
while the process is in progress,
politics all around, heartless,
South Beach, here I come
as always, Gypsy poet,
let the nylon strings dance,
we know better,
life is sweet simple
our way.
walking Washington Avenue,
Ocean Drive, siting
on the balcony
at the Cafe Milano,
music, life, ocean,
smoking a cigar,
there is no doubt here:
that you're alive,
Collins Avenue,
Cuban coffee,
people who love living,
my beautiful friends
celebrating life's kiss.
