THE SHADOWS RULE
As I close my eyes a past I see,
Days when love was held by me,
Memories of dreams that where,
But now just left the distant blur.
Visions of a yesterday left within,
A light that burnt now just dime,
As I ponder on the past of me,
The loneliness returns to be.
Deep within the tears they fall,
Each like a dagger in my hearts wall,
Whist shadows fill my lonely nights,
A love for me is out of sight.
Many friends are claimed to be,
But in its truth they don't wont me,
For here I'm on a lonely ride,
Adrift on tears that my heart cries.
In the shadows of the dark,
Just waiting for a distant spark,
A spark that may just set me free,
From just a memory that I see.
On yesterday the door is closed,
The love of then now time froze,
Love of now well just a mist,
A wish a dream that don't exist.
Shadows one day may depart,
Light may shine within my heart,
But as of now the rain still falls,
In tears I drown as shadows rule.
