A Father's Words to a DaughterA word I give to you my dear little girl: never cry out loud. A proverb I tell to you my sweet adolescent girl: never stop trying. A story I tell to you my darling teen girl: always tell all the boys no. A maxim I give to you my lovely college girl: study hard everyday. This advice I impart to you my beautiful young lady: this man will never do. Alas my fine little woman I say to you: do what you want to do. Heed my advice or not it is after all your life: but remember always that your father loves you more than anything in the world. Donavon Scott Vinson Poetry Ad-Free Upgrades Vote for this poem
