 I Remember

I remember my first day at school
Running down the corridors
Not wanting you to leave at all

I remember when i had bad dreams
And dad was always the monster
But you showed me not everything is what it seems

I remember our holidays with the family
Down in Devon, Cornwall and Majorca
And me crying all the way home missing the donkey

I remember when i was sick and ill
And you being with me always
Like you are still

There is so much which i remember
Which i am sure you do to mum
Like when you gave birth to me on the 16th of September
And when time continues and my poetry book gathers dust
I will always remember you, in that you can trust.
