The bagel's demise!

It was sitting on the shelf all alone,
Cos all the other bread was gone,
And I felt so sorry for it…
That I purchased that little one!

I packed it oh so carefully,
And put it on my knee,
The next thing it was on the floor,
Oh drearie, dearie me!

It was shaped into 4 pieces,
Just like you'd see a cake,
But then everything went wrong,
And my bagel was all at stake!

You see, I didn't know I'd dropped it,
Until I felt a little unsteady in me chair,
Cos I had driven right over it,
And there is was, just lying there!

So this kid carefully picked it up,
And handed it to me…
All squashed up and lob sided,
Oh what a sight to see!

So now its there in my kitchen,
All alone in it's plight!
Battered and bruised, and all unused,
And it can stay there all bloody night!

Cos no way am I eating that!
It's as dead as it can be!
And I have to be quite honest here,
I won't be having any tea!
