Absent Minded

something different?

Different than all the rest
That I am
better or not
I'm unsure
but i can fathom it

Making up dreams
and counting clouds
whispering nothing
to repeat myself
smelling the spring air
watching the seasons grow
wishing on fallen stars
guided by the angels

Different than all the rest
That I am unsure
same as some
or none
I'll leave to your censure

Roaming the night
screaming lullabies
captivating fireflies
and chewing on dandelions
singing of clairvoyance
and humoring the muse
stalling on the ways of the world
lost and confused
putting the pieces together
to figure it all out
Contemplating life thereafter
never reminiscing the doubts
timeless treasures
of assonance
limited wonders of perception
guided by inner demons

No different than the rest
I can tell you that
they all begin to sound the same
until one gets your attention

Living until you die
learning from yourself and wisening up
never giving in
working hard
and trying to achieve the top
horseshoes and clovers
and rainbows in your Celtic spread
the gypsy woman frowns
the pain is difficult ahead.

always something different
thats for sure
never the same thing twice
no two identical pictures
just pieces of something
beautiful or grotesque
lonely and bold
leave you holding your breath
