Love seems to taunt us in the night,
With the ache and lonely want that's so hard to fight,
Giving us a ghost that will haunt us in the light,
Of dreams as we sleep,
And lips that will never meet.
Are all of love's stars taking?
In the night stars seem to wonder by,
Trying to keep my lonely heart from breaking,
Inner wars I fight so I won't cry,
Sometime I have them in my eyes,
In the dark I'm aching from love's sweet lies.
I can't reach high enough,
For the star that passes with love,
Fate and luck seem to cheat,
Lips that will never meet.
