Absent Minded

Permanent changes

I was some kind of a loser yesterday
And a different loser the day before
Didn't learn as quick as I should have
Too busy thinking of the extra credit
By doing everything the hard way.

I was a drug addict yesterday and a perverse raging hormone the day before
Didn't learn as quick as I should have
Because I was too busy doing things the hard way

I was an extracurricular loser yesterday and the geeky teacher's pet the day before
Didn't learn as quick as the rest of you
I was too busy getting good grades so I could raise your children when you failed.

I was a drug-dealing liar yesterday
And a rumored lunatic the day before
Didn't learn as quick as the rest of you because I was stuck in the middle getting all of your what fors.

I've learned everything the hard way
And taken you for the ride
But that was yesterday and the day before
Thought of some permanent changes and now I'm reformed
