"reveal"

they say all love is lost
never to return
never had been here before some say
but I found her
under my bed
holding a flashlight with one hand
and the other
holds an index finger over her lips
quieting my startle -
I beg her to reveal herself
to those who don't believe me
to those who cannot see her
to those who never will
to those who don't care
to those who pretend they don't
oh love
reveal yourself
to those who say you do not exist at all
I talk too much
she lets me know
that though my speech is meaningless to most
I have learned how to speak her name into existence
I have learned how to see the illusion of her
on occasion
