When The Trust Has Gone…When the trust has gone and you're head is battered, You feel so low and your heart is shattered! The road you travelled is long and hard; You don't' know what to do, your thoughts are barred! Everything's blocked, the feelings all but dead, You want to sleep a sleep and rest your head! But sleep wont come, and daybreak here, Another day, another trial, another tear! For the tears won't stop falling the pain won't subside! You want to vanish, to run and hide! But there's nowhere to run to, no-one to help you! What do you do now, what's a lie and what's true? When the pain is deep and all the trust has gone, The pain in your heart means a life of no fun! You look around to the sea of faces you know! But you don't trust them, because it died a moon ago! So you feel your back's against a brick wall! No-one to help you, to break your fall! You wonder if it was because of something you've done! And you merely exist; because life still goes on! You really do think your heart will never mend, Be the way you were, and peace become a friend! You sink so low, that the tears fall like rain, Living in an abundance of a horrific pain! Then one day you wake up, and don't feel so sad, And realise once more that life isn't all bad! The gloom has lifted from your head and heart, And there are the ingredients for a brand new start! You thought it wouldn't happen, but wow, look at you! You came full circle, and you really got through! When you thought you life was ended and you wanted to die, Because of the hurt inside you that made you so cry! But this morning when you looked to the sun in the sky, You knew for sure, you would no longer cry! Cry for the hurting heart; you didn't know what to do! By someone who had taken the trust from you! You said; ‘I'll never trust again, no how, no way!' But look at you, look how you are today! And now the trust will return, but not easy, oh no! For the hurt that caused will take a long time to go! And you may never trust truly, not ever again! Because we self protect, from hurt and pain! But maybe one day, the sun will shine again! And your trust will return, and you get over the pain!
