 After The Rain

Intro: This one 'happened' after a rainstorm. I have always loved being inside with the rain beating down on the rooftop. There is something cosy and comforting about it, but when I took time to look at the world afterwards, I realised that it's just as good!

After the rain,
A sense of relief,
A smell of freshness,
A brand new start.

After the rain,
A sense of peace,
A smell of damp grass,
A different world.

After the rain,
A sense of freedom,
A smell of soaked earth,
A break in the clouds.

After the rain,
A sense of happiness,
A scent of glistening flowers,
A splash in a shining puddle.

After the rain,
A sense of comfort,
A feeling of promise,
The smell of cooking bacon rests on the breeze.

After the rain,
A sense of hope,
A bird sings in distant trees,
As if to welcome the sun.
