My Memory Just Won't Let Me

When I lay my body down
I see flashes of you in my dreams
Wearing that look of disgust
the one you solely reserve for me
You whisper in my ear I am nothing but sh*t
And everything I never wanted to know
I finally hear.....

I wish I could erase you
But my memory just won't let me
wish I could forget the pain
but it lives on the surface
keeps me aware....keeps me paranoid I think

When I was baby and I wouldn't be quiet
you would burn me just to hear me cry in pain
the time is all compacted into a window
I want to close...but somehow, someway
it always swings open
even when the light hits my face
I can still feel your darkness
Days go on forever
When you  know too much
And everything you need to know
Is answered with one touch

I wish I could erase you
But my memory just won't let me
wish I could forget the pain
but it lives on the surface
keeps me aware....keeps me paranoid I think
