The Train Trip
It flies in a flash,
That moment of sure,
The echo reflection,
Past present and more!
Green smiling ever,
'Neath cloudy blue calm,
Dotted and spotted,
With outreaching arms!
Just sitting and taking,
And soaking so deep.
Rocking and rolling,
The calling of sleep!
Shadows soft edging
Surrounded in sun.
The chewing and chomping,
With no need to run!
Passing the river
A soft swirling pace,
Then gateways and fences,
Enclosing and safe!
Inside hear the murmur
A small lilting whirl
So sweet and one sided,
This chattering girl!
Passed townships so tiny
With no one in sight,
Close by a graveyard
With order and quiet!
The stations, near empty,
A person or two,
A whistle, a jolting,
More flashes, new views!
No worry of traffic
Or following maps,
So nerve free relaxing,
On the edge of a nap!
Joy Weare.
31st October, 2005.
