Halloween Night (Ten Word Challenge) When I as at the age of ten
Halloween used to scare me,
There was nowhere for me to escape
I felt like a puppet on a string.
I walked into a haunted house
Saw so much blood on the floor,
A sliver of glass layed there
I tried to make it back to the door.
I saw a woman standing there
Dressed in gaudy clothes,
She asked, "Where are you going my child?"
While brushing her hairsprayed afro.
"I came here for some treats,"
She said I was full of malarky,
"You came here to snoop around,
"No, I didn't ma'am, you have to believe me."
A body lay on the floor
Just past the jade beaded curtains,
It was in so much contrast to hers
I didn't trespass, I wouldn't have this burden.

For this challenge, I was supposed to take 10 words provided by a poetry site and make a fictional poem/story out of it. This is what I came up with.
