If Only In My Dreams
Beautiful like the rose
and flowing like a tender song
like for once this moment
I wish could last forever
I am here, you are miles away
you are not minutes, you are hours
but in my dreams we will always be together
if only in my dreams....
I understand the situation
I honestly do
you are way across the country
here is all our memories
the photos of when I was little
and you was younger...holding me up
like I was some sort of trophy
here lately want you to know
I think of you as one too
and the book closes but the dream is alive
the scene will always be real to me
if only in my dreams
There's so much to say
I've so much to tell you
Oh I'm so afraid
maybe today is your last day
so I fall asleep finally
and there you are once again
beside me....laughing, us living the road never taken
I smile there in my peace
yes....if only in my dreams
