Poetic-Verses

I Walked a Mile With Pleasure!

What did Pleasure do? She robbed you!
"But it was great while it lasted!"......Was it?

I walked a mile with Pleasure; she took my breath away,
She told me how she'd laughed and danced many nights away,
With unsuspecting people, whom she'd captured with her charms;
How she'd smothered and cajoled them, in her all embracing arms.

I walked a mile with Pleasure; her allure was plain to see!
"They worshipped what I stood for! The world they wanted me.
They reached out in their blindness, through boredom and despair;
Pleasure is what they asked for and Pleasure was right there."

I walked a mile with Pleasure, she loved extravagance!
She captivated millions and put them in a trance.
She robbed them of their money, pride and self esteem
And left them cold and hungry with half remembered dreams.

I walked a mile with Pleasure, she said, "They could have run!
They could have moderation! Instead they wanted fun.
My role was very simple! It was to satisfy!
I gave them all they wanted and that I can't deny!"
