TWENTY MILES TO TWO

You called me last night at seven
It makes me smile
I know there's heaven
So today do I have the strength
It see if my gifts are gone and I'm thanked
Do I ride those twenty miles
To see if you will bring me smiles
Today I'm too tired
For nothing to be there
Just one stalk of wheat
Would show you care
Today my housewife day
Should I just play
To be disappointed
Rather be anointed
With some love from you
Because it makes those
Twenty miles seem like two.
