M's Poetry

Real Friends

As they all felt I was no longer the same
they turned to me and waved goodbye
their waves are imprinted in my brain
cuz you left when times were tough
and I never heard from you
again so ironic
when you called for a favor today

who died and made you judge?
you missed that lesson in loyalty
never my friend
just my acquaintance
I now know sadly after you walked away
there was a day
when I could forget
but those days are gone
I see them fade
and I remember how you treated me
I remember everything

Yeah I have learned to channel my anger
my tears are not meant for strangers
your true colors are shining brightly
so much so I hear nothing you say
cause now times have changed
I take a look around
cuz this moment of starting over is mine
gone is all the weak minds I surrounded myself with
in it's place is real friends
