Silver Lining

Oh the picture
sometimes not what you wanted
you can't rewind
this house will stay haunted
rain will fall
drowning out the sun
every thing's coming up roses
in spite of all we've done

Then I look in your eyes
even after the fall
there is good after all
through the faintest of smiles
in the middle of chaos was born
a tiny silver lining
with our name on it

Trapped in the past
moments that shine
unfairly but bluntly
I pray for forgetfulness
dim the pain for my lifetime
but then like clockwork
we come full circle

rain will fall
drowning out the sun
every thing's coming up roses
in spite of all we've done
then I look in your eyes
even after the fall
there is good after all
through the faintest of smiles
in the middle of chaos was born
a tiny silver lining
with our name on it
