JEWELS OF JOY

I reach into my treasure trove
Of memories and find
The precious jewels of joyful moments
That I've left behind.

I turn them over in my thoughts
Like baubles in my hands
Trying to recapture those
Old feelings, where I stand

I close my eyes and drift away
To earlier days gone by
So fleeting are the mem'ries
I cannot hold back a sigh

Remember to hold in your heart
The moments that you live
For time can sift away those gems
As sand flows through a sieve.
