Don't Come to Me
Do you like to see me crying
Do you like to see me stressed out
Because of you and the kids
That I'm always worried about
You call me all the time
Your number is always on my phone
Leaving me so many messages
Telling me how much they want me home
You know I love those kids
They mean the world to me
If I could I would be there everyday
That would keep me happy
You decided to move
And you want to take me with you
Sorry, but living in that house again
Is not something I will do
I know you mom and dad
I know your sneaky ways
As soon as I move in
You will be asking for money every day
You will try to guilt trip me
By using the kids as an excuse
When you bring them into it
That's something I can't refuse
You tell me it's only a favor
Since we are family
Every time pay day comes around
You are asking me for money
I can't do it anymore
I have to take care of me
I have my own life now
I have to do what makes me happy
My first three years of working
You took every pay check I had
I didn't want to say anything
I didn't want to get you mad
So I had no money out of high school
For college or a car
I had to soon get two jobs
I had to work awfully hard
Yet you still call me
Saying you have no money to pay rent
Because you decided to go out
Now all your money is spent
I don't know what to do
I can't help you anymore
I can't give you all my money
Like I did before
I'm tired of taking care of you
Providing your food and care
I'm tired of being so afraid of you
That my money I have to share
I have my own life
I need a home and clothing on my back
I also need food to eat
I can't give you money every time you ask
I'm not going to fall for it again
The kids are no excuse
If you don't have the money
The fault is all on you
I'm sorry mom and dad
But if you need food and money
I cannot help you any longer
Don't come to me
