Absent Minded

Forget

Nevermind the butterflies
that land upon the dew
forget the damned lady bugs
and the saying her house is on fire
she'd only fly back and call you a liar

Forget the sunsets and sunrises
they were nothing special
just close your eyes and go there
wasted away
with the sentimental.

so what about the birds chirping
and the green grass
whatever to the busy ants
on main street dodging footsteps
and traffic.

Forget the storm clouds
they'll come again
surrender to the unfathomable
a touch of heaven's unforgiven
close away the esoteric
and the occult
lock away the prise winning
flowers and marigolds
delve a little deeper
into ancient mysteries.

Cry to be humbled,
and be humbled by another
just like me.
