Prideful Greed
Oh how mindless without rest
is one who has forgotten thee
a courage of such boasting
when I am the one in need.
I can do nothing alone
when in myself is all I see
there is no peace or confort
but only a fleeting plea.
In God alone I must stand
still with a humbled knee
waiting for Him to lift me up
and take away my prideful greed.
I must realize salvation comes as a gift
to those who will accept it free
for He has already paid the cost
it's really not all about me.
