WE NEED COMFORT AS WE ARE OLD

Middle-aged spread
Not yet dead
Struggling to see
You're older that me

I hate the pain
this love must gain
Because of her
That you once were

Lovers
Under some covers
What am I supposed to feel?
You're still with her for real

Am I supposed to take it?
All the hurt and then the fit
When I am 16
Mature enough to be mean

Like your love's slapping blow
You must see my tears and know
You living with her brings me down
Want to say don't come around

Until you're free for sure
Until you decide I'm her
The one you wake up with
The kind of girl you take up with

Who kisses your lips gracefully
Who dresses for you tastefully
Who needs a man's arms as hers for good
Are you the man who could

Make me burn inside forever
Get a clue as you are clever
Smart enough to figure out
I'm old and need comfort or I pout

And your comfort you give away
By going home to her at the end of the day
So what you going to do?
You can't have her and have me too.
